Kunnathur Mana Ayurveda Heritage Resort

Kunnathurmana Ayurveda Heritage Resort is one of the few ancestral homes in Kerala, having a history of so many decades. It was situated very close to the ”Eliyangad Palace” which was the centre of the “Eliyangad Swaroopam” a part of the celebrated Cochin royal family. Later, the Kunnathurmana was disorganized and disrupted and came to the hands of Sri. Payyath Govinda Menon. The land strip stretching from Ponnani to Chettuva, called “Vanneri Nadu” had a significant role in fixing the importance of Thrissur as the cultural Centre of Kerala. Punnayurkulam is the vital spot of “Vanneri Nadu”, where the Kunnathurmana was situated. The Mana was designed and constructed by the renowned vasthu connoisseur Sri. Kodungallur Kunhikkuttan Thampuran himself. Kunnathurmana have a history over 130 years. Sri. Govinda Menon, his wife Smt. Kalipurath Ammukkutty Amma and their ten children were residing there. Sri. K.G.Karunakara Menon (Ex-MLA), their youngest son, was the crownless King of the region and this house became the nucleus of his activities. The house was also known with the name of his adored wife Smt. Nalappatt Ammini Amma. She was the cousin of the well known Malayalam poet Sri. Nalappatt Narayana Menon.
